Thought for the Day: Tuesday
Anita Sharpe on Passionate Work

'My first 15 or 20 short video movies were unwatchable, but I learned a lot from them and I kept making them because I enjoyed the process more than the result. The more experience you give yourself the better prepared you are for the next project. If you want to be a rock star, do you go to rock star school and expect to come out like Jimi Hendrix after a few short classes? Of course not. Don't be lazy, you know the drill. You have to lock yourself in your garage and practice till your fingers bleed.' -- Director Robert Rodriguez (from Rebel Without a Crew)

Excellent Jimi Hendrix reference. Anytime Jimi's name can be worked into a conversation on personal development, I'm happy.

Thanks for the post, Anita. I don't think we hear this message often enough. Our bandwidth is generally chewed up with Feel Good Get Rich Quick You Are Entitled Bullshit.

Here is an idea. Work hard. Focus. Think.
