Cool Workspaces
Kevin Salwen on Culture

Scott Ehrlich was a consultant unable to continue working from his home, so he hunted for an office that would be, shall we say, just a little different. What he came up with was a Wow!  Ehrlich built his workspace onto a 46-foot boat docked at a Seattle marina. His story is a fun one, and you can check it out here.

I've seen other great workspaces:
-- an ex-monastery outside Boston turned into an ad agency,
-- a former movie studio that now holds both offices and a basketball court for a media company's employees and
-- a bank turned into the headquarters for a city's economic-development officials in which one office resides in the vault (with the 2-foot thick door propped open, of course!).

What have you seen that made you say wow?

The Tabernacle is a concert venue here in Atlanta that used to be a church. It is a very cool place to see a show. The balcony is intact too, and that's my favorite place to sit.

Margaritas Mexican Restaurant in Concord, NH is built from an old jailhouse from the early 1900's, and has private tables inside each of the old cells.
