'Bullshit -- I don't believe that for a minute,' says Jed Emerson, who is a senior fellow at Al Gore's Generation Foundation. Jed is one of the thought-leaders speaking this weekend at the NetImpact conference at Stanford.

And why is that old management adage bullshit in his view? Because when we value companies, we have to find a way to incorporate values. And those aren't as easy to measure as units sold and earnings per share. 'Think about how you manage your life assets -- you manage your life for the long term.'
