Worthwhile Thought: Thursday
Anita Sharpe on Passionate Work

'I keep repeating this mantra which is: Don't think about business. Stop talking about business because the minute you talk about that you are going to be molded into thinking like a small version of a large corporation. Let the word free you up -- think of wonderful livelihood. Think of the skills you have to establish an honorable livelihood that you control. You are master of your time. You are free to study, free to travel -- whatever it is.' -- Body Shop co-founder Anita Roddick, interviewed in the March issue of Worthwhile magazine

hmmmm....have anybody asked all the employees what they want and, if yes, when something didn't succeed, did the employees get asked why it didn't work?
Just a curious question.

At my company, we've been thinking a lot about this very thing -- how do you reinvent a business outside the typical business paradigm? We have experimented with no hierarchy, for instance, as well as total flex time. We've called employees 'partners.' All work with certain types of people, but are total failures with others. I'd love to hear what other people have tried along these lines.
