Kevin Salwen on Bookshelf

Merriam-Webster announced this week that it is adding 58 words to the New World College Dictionary. That's big news to those of us in the word business, so it's my pleasure to report that wedgie has made it into the book. You soon will be able to look up this entry:
wedgie: noun. a prank in which the victim's undershorts are jerked upward so as to become wedged between the buttocks.

Joining wedgie: 57 other bon mots, including blog (yes, blog!) Al Qaeda, cargo pants, irritable bowel syndrome and partial-birth abortion.
