Today's Thought: Thanks for the Meme-ries
Anita Sharpe on Culture

'Biological Definition of Meme (from Dawkins): The meme is the basic unit of cultural transmission, or imitation.

'Labeling a meme true lodges it in your programming and eliminates your conscious ability to choose your own memes. Once some authority convinces you something is True, or Right, or something you Should do, you are effectively programmed.

'Question Authority is probably the best bumper-sticker advice ever given, so long as you don't read to mean 'contradict authority': mind viruses have just as big a field day with automatic rebels as with automatic yesmen.' -- Richard Brodie (from Virus of the Mind)

I bet your percentages are pretty close to dead on.

Interesting Anita.

I wonder if you analyze a humans being entire life, at what stages during that life a “meme is adopted more often.

Just to babble (I do not know anything about this subject!), my assumption is that:

1-14 50%
15 - 24 15%
24 – 38 20%
38 – on 15%

What do you think?
