If you're a Saturday Night Live fan, you've noticed that another woman, Amy Poehler, has joined Tina Fey at the Weekend Update desk.
Did SNL executive producer Lorne Michaels finally cave into pressure that it was time to add more women to the show in prominent roles? (The show has been criticized in the past for being too much of a boys club.)
'It has to work because it's funny,' he told the New York Times today. 'No one's going to say, 'I admire the choice, therefore I'm going to watch it.' '
As I read that, I thought of the growing number of companies (following in the footsteps of businesses like Ben & Jerry's) that stand for something more than making money. No doubt about it -- doing the right thing is more important than ever; but at the end of the day, the ice cream has to taste good.
