Play's the Thing
Anita Sharpe on Passionate Work

Virginia Hamilton Adair died Thursday at the age of 91. She received national attention at age 83 when she published her first collection of poetry, Ants on the Melon, to wide critical acclaim.

In an interview with PBS after the volume came out, she summed up her life-long love of poetry and her writing secrets this way: 'I just (love) the sound and the rhythm and the playing with words.'

What caught my attention is the word 'play.' If you want to know what will really fuel your career passion (and success) pay attention to that word. As Adair demonstrated, it's never too late.
