Kevin Salwen on Life
When I was 11, I got my first job working for Bert's Donut Shop near where I lived in Brooklyn. My job was to walk across to the local hair salons and offer to deliver a sandwich, coffee or something sweet to the women sitting under those massive hair dryers.
I think you learn some amazing life lessons from a first job:
-- How to show up when you may not feel like it.
-- How to ask people for a sale.
-- How sometimes work pays well and sometimes it doesn't, even when you put in the same amount of effort. (Who says life is fair?)
