Mobile Oscar
Martin Flaherty on Technology

With the Oscars just a few weeks away, the buzz about who will win what award grows louder and louder. But with Hollywood budgets in the stratosphere and the stars and directors
living
in
a splendid isolation away from the rest of us, have a look at something more
down to earth. Check out the first annual Cellflix
Festival
for cellular short films.

Here's how the organizers at
Ithaca College describe the event."The CellFlix Festival is an
annual competition dedicated to the development of creative content for mobile
delivery. It’s
all about imagination, fantasy, and story – created through and presented
on the small screen."

Each film is shot using only a camera phone and can be no longer than 30 seconds
in length. Cheat is this year's winner. And, it's better than half of the films
I saw last year.

Those are wonderful, Martin. Thanks for that site. I must say, my favorite is this one, about the demographics of America. http://www.cellflixfestival.org/openfinals/Eight.SudsSaria.IC.mp4
