How's This for Nerveracking?
Kevin Salwen on In the News

Think you get nervous speaking in public? How about what Ben Bernanke had to go through today: Presenting to Congress for the first time as Federal Reserve chairman following Alan Greenspan.

It's not just whether the audience (of congressmen/women) thought he did well, but the occasionally bitchy Wall Streeters as well. The verdict: Ben, you did fine. AP's report: 'During his nearly 3 1/2 hour appearance, Bernanke handled himself with aplomb, calmly fielding questions on a range of economic matters from lawmakers who frequently mentioned that they liked his plainspoken manner -- in contrast to the Delphic discourse of his predecessor, Alan Greenspan. At times Bernanke smiled as he leaned forward in his chair to speak.'

Breathe easy, Ben. Dow up 30.
