Martin Flaherty on In the News
Yesterday was a busy day in a number of boardrooms. Pixar animation was fully acquired by The Walt Disney Company, and two, poorly watched television networks also came together to form CW (UPN and WB). These are all very interesting in a yawn-inducing sort of way. But let's think bigger. Let's merge demographics, social issues and national borders in unexpected ways that could make everyone uncomfortable. Come on! Get your inner change management consultant hat on let's create 'synergies'.
The United States merges with Canada and Mexico to create - United Canexico (great food, poite people and a huge military infrastructure - 'Don't tread on me please hombre.')
Northern Ireland and Ireland merge to create - One country!
Exxon and the World Wildlife Foundation merge - to not 'Put a Tiger In Your Tank'
America's People magazine merges with the UK's 'Hello' to create...something even more unreadable.
Come on, what else can we make?
