Overcoming Adultitis
Curt Rosengren on Life

Do you have a case of Adultitis? If so, Kim and Jason Kotecki have just the cure (they even offer a quiz if you're not sure).

'Ummmm...,' you might be thinking, 'Adultitis? What's that?' Well, I'm glad you asked. According to their web site...

Adultitis is a silent epidemic that has been ignored for far too long. It's a disease that slowly erodes our inborn childlike spirit, wreaking havoc on our world, our nation, and our families. It kills laughter, dreams, curiosity, faith, happiness, and hope. It stresses us out. It causes us to take ourselves too seriously. And in some extreme cases, it can cause smile amnesia. (Pretty serious stuff.)

They have come up with a cure they call The Escape Plan. Basically, it's 40 days, 40 ideas to break out of your rut, and an invitation to play along.

They do it in the form of another cool idea that the call an xblog, an experiential blog. It is for a finite time period (in this case, 40 days), and invites participation and sharing.

Interesting isn't it...kids are often being told to 'be quiet', 'sit still', 'stop laughing so loud' etc...and yet that's precisely what we need. I love the concept of 'adultitis' and all that it conjures up. I also liked seeing the 30 day challenge..cool idea. Got me thinking of things to work on. One of the things I love most about kids is the way they laugh, and smile, and pretend, and giggle. It's absolutely contagious. We adults should take a cue from the kids and revert back, while we are still of sound mind and body, to the kid stage when it comes to fun.
Wahoo...time to play...where's my skipping rope?
