How to Love Your Work: A Simple Secret
Anita Sharpe on Passionate Work

For the past two days I have been working on things I generally hate -- detailed paper work connected with Worthwhile's current funding round. Yet they have been two of the most enjoyable days in recent memory.

Why? I loved the people I was working with and where we were working. We sat around a board member's kitchen table drinking pots of good fresh coffee and hashed through a bunch of tedious stuff -- made less tedious by humor (Kevin, for one, is very funny) and a strong dose of spiritual commentary provided by a former CEO and finance whiz with a metaphysical bent.

This morning feels more like a Monday -- I'm energized and refreshed. Enjoying what you do is often as much (or more) about environment as content.

Absolutely!

People leave jobs because of people - or the lack of a connection with others - not because of the work.

Thanks!
